Vasa 451BL Outdoor Wall Light, Black, LED 6 W, 4000 K, NORLYS

Vasa 451BL is an outdoor wall light from Norlys shaped as a low half-cylinder of cast aluminium, powder-coated black (RAL 9005). The underside is closed by a clear polycarbonate diffuser with a textured surface, through which the light leaves diffused in a downward half-sphere. Norlys designed it for lighting walls and architectural features.

Dimensions and installation

The fitting is 31 cm wide, 12.5 cm high and projects 15.5 cm from the wall; it weighs 2.27 kg. It can be screwed on directly through two ø5 mm holes 68 mm apart, or via an intermediate plate with two 5×10 mm slots 45 mm apart that let you level the light. The terminals take conductors up to 3×2.5 mm², and the round-sheathed cable must be 7–10.5 mm in diameter. Further fittings can be looped through with cable up to 3×1.5 mm². The card also states how many of these fittings one circuit breaker can start: B10 – 46, B16 – 75, C10 – 74, C16 – 120, which is ample for a long row along a facade.

What light it gives

The integrated Cree LED module draws 6 W, and 457 lm of light leaves the fitting at 4000 K — a neutral white that renders the colours of a facade and planting well. CRI 80 is sufficient for an entrance or a path. The light sends nothing upwards (ULOR 0%), so it does not dazzle the windows above or scatter light into the sky. In the same range, model 450 gives warm 3000 K light.

The light is phase-dimmable with both trailing-edge (TE) and leading-edge (LE) dimmers, so it works with either type. The LED module and driver are replaced by a professional service (service kit 451zx0009), and Norlys rates the module at L80 above 102,000 h — decades of use at a few hours a day.

Weather resistance

IP65 means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the light can hang on an exposed wall. IK08 impact resistance protects the diffuser at a front door. The fitting is protection class I and must be connected to an earth conductor.
