FAY WALL PLUS is a wall light in white lacquered steel. A flat metal bracket is screwed to a round wall plate and holds a cylindrical shade with a narrower lampholder sleeve. The shade is open at the bottom.
Dimensions and construction
The light is 24 cm long, 23 cm high and 15 cm wide, and the shade alone is 15 cm tall. It is a compact fitting: compare the 15 cm width with the wall space between furniture or above the cabinet it is meant to hang over.
The shade is screwed to the bracket on both sides, and a short, visible length of cable runs between the wall plate and the lampholder sleeve.
Bulb and light
The light takes an E27 bulb of up to 60 W. No bulb is included, so brightness and colour depend on the one you choose — an LED of about 800 lm matches an old 60 W bulb, and 2700–3000 K gives warm, yellowish light.
The steel shade does not let light through, so it directs the light wherever it faces. In the manufacturer's photos a large globe bulb sticks out below its rim, which makes the bulb's shape part of the lamp's look.
Series and use
The FAY series is made of plain geometric shapes without ornament, in two colours: white and black. This wall light has a black counterpart, and the collection also includes FAY 1 pendants in three sizes and FAY KOLO 3. The manufacturer intends FAY lights for living rooms, bedrooms and office spaces.
