PIK II is a Nowodvorski ceiling lamp built around a plain black bar 48 cm long. At its ends, on opposite sides, sit two white opal glass globes 12 cm across — one slightly higher, the other lower, which gives an otherwise static bar its asymmetry. The fitting sits against the ceiling on a square base in the middle.

Two light sections, not one

The manufacturer splits the fitting into two independent light sections in a 1/1 arrangement — one globe per section. Wired to a two-circuit switch, they let you light a single globe or both, so the same lamp can give the soft light of one globe or full room lighting. It is a feature you cannot see in the photograph and one that genuinely changes how the lamp is used.

Opal glass softens the G9 source

The white opal glass covers the light sources completely — instead of the point glare of a G9 bulb you see an evenly lit globe. There are two holders, each for a source of up to 12 W and LED only; no bulb is supplied and the sources are replaceable. Nowodvorski recommends its own diffuse-light G9 sources for this fitting: 7503 in warm 3000 K or 7504 in cool 4000 K.

The constraint to know before buying bulbs

G9 sources from any manufacturer can be used, but on one condition: the bulb diameter must not exceed 19.5 mm. That is a dimension most bulb listings do not put front and centre, and it decides whether a source will fit inside the globe at all. Worth checking before ordering a set of spares.

Build and installation

The leading material is lacquered aluminium in black — the manufacturer names the exact shade from its own chart, P013 RAL 9005 — complemented by white glass. The fitting mounts by the bridge method, is protection class I and requires the earth conductor to be connected. Supply is 220–230 V at 50 Hz, and the IP20 rating restricts it to dry interiors. The mounting kit is not included.
