The ZAMBELIS 2570 is a ceiling light built from a round grey disc 60 cm across, with two matt black linear elements and their opal covers running over it. The fitting stands 6 cm deep and sits flat against the ceiling. Only the two strips emit light; the disc stays dark.

How much ceiling it takes up

The 60 cm diameter is worth comparing with the free ceiling area where the fitting is to go, because in a narrow hallway it covers a good part of it. The 6 cm depth means the luminaire does not drop far into the room.

Behind the disc the maker gives a mounting base of 48 × 8 × 4 cm, and that is the part screwed to the ceiling, so the fixing points run along a bar almost half a metre long rather than one spot. The data sheet lists no cutting hole and no required depth, so it goes onto a finished ceiling. Safety class I calls for a supply with an earth conductor, and no connecting lead is included.

How much light it gives and how it dims

The built-in LED module draws 43 W and delivers 1920 lm. An old 60 W bulb produced around 800 lm, so this fitting is about two and a half times brighter and is meant as a room's main light. 3000 K is a warm, slightly yellow white, and Ra 80 colour rendering covers everyday use, not work that depends on exact colour.

Brightness is set with a TRIAC dimmer, not included and required in the installation. The LED module cannot be replaced: the maker states L70B50 30 000 h, which at three hours a day is about 27 years, after which output has fallen to 70 percent of the initial figure.

Build and where it can go

The body combines metal and aluminium; the strip covers are opal white PVC, which diffuses the module's light. The 220–240 V supply at 50/60 Hz connects straight to the mains wiring, with no separate driver to buy. The maker classes the 2570 as an indoor ceiling luminaire, so it belongs in a dry room.

The shape is geometric and undecorated: a plain grey disc and two contrasting lines. Warm light at this output, dimmed lower in the evening, suits a living room or bedroom, where the fitting is the general light.
