ALBAIDA is a compact pendant light made of two graphite plates set crosswise to each other. Each has an illuminated, rounded edge that glows like a line of light bent into the letter J. The fitting is made of metal and acrylic, and the light source is a built-in LED module.
Size and suspension
According to the manufacturer's drawing, the body is 10.5 cm wide and 29.5 cm high, so it is narrow and slender and takes up less space than a typical shade. It hangs on three thin wires attached to a square canopy measuring 15 × 15 cm and 4.5 cm deep. The overall height of the fitting is 200 cm; compare this with the height of your own room and the spot where the lamp is to hang.
With such a small body, a single ALBAIDA works well above a bedside table, and above a longer worktop or table several can be hung side by side.
How much light, and what kind
The LED module draws 9 W and delivers 380 lm, roughly half of what an old 60 W bulb gave. This is mood and local light: for reading in bed or as an accent in the living room, not the main lighting of a room. The colour temperature of 2700 K is a warm, slightly yellow light, close to a traditional bulb.
The source is integrated into the fitting, so you do not buy bulbs for it, but the module cannot be replaced by the user. Light comes only from the illuminated edges, while the graphite plates stay dark. Brightness can be adjusted with a TRIAC dimmer, i.e. a phase-cut dimmer rated for LED loads.
Which interiors it suits
Flat, unornamented plates and a single line of light make a modern, minimalist form, which the manufacturer itself describes as a simple construction. The lamp is intended for the bedroom, living room and dining room, wherever it should give warm, focused light in one particular spot rather than light the whole room.
