Maytoni Badd O454WL-L10GF3K is an outdoor wall light shaped as a rectangular box: a graphite aluminium plate against the wall with a white matt acrylic diffuser slid over it. This is the version with the square diffuser – the Badd series also has a rounded one (O454WL-L10GF3K1). The LED light source is built into the fitting.
Size and installation
The light is 20 cm high and 10 cm wide and projects 7 cm from the wall – the figure to compare with the space beside a door or in a narrow passage. It weighs 0.52 kg. The mounting plate is screwed to the wall first; the producer fits O-rings under the screw washers to keep water out of the holes. The diffuser slides onto the plate and is locked with a screw from below.
The terminal block has live, protective earth and neutral terminals – a class I fitting, so the earth conductor must be connected. It runs directly on 220–240 V mains with the driver inside.
How much light, and what kind
The LED module draws 10 W and delivers 700 lm, roughly what an old 60 W bulb gave. At 3000 K the light is warm white, and the 148° beam angle means a wide spread – the opal acrylic glows over its whole surface and lights the wall around the fitting instead of casting a narrow spot. The light cannot be dimmed. The producer states a 50,000 h lifetime and energy class G.
Where it fits
IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water, so the light can hang on a façade without a canopy above it. The producer allows operation from -40 to +50°C. It suits a balcony, a wall or a fence, as well as hotel and restaurant façades. The plain body without ornament and the graphite frame make it a modern, minimalist form.
