PLASTRA 104 is a square SLV ceiling light made of white plaster, 25 cm along each side and 9.5 cm deep. A frosted glass diffuser is set into the underside of the box-shaped body, and the light passes straight down through it. The form is plain, with no decoration and no visible fixings.
Size and installation
The fitting covers a 25 × 25 cm square on the ceiling and projects 9.5 cm below it — worth comparing with your ceiling height and with any wardrobe doors that open just under the ceiling. The manufacturer specifies it for surface mounting on the ceiling.
The plaster body weighs 2.97 kg net, so the fixing has to carry almost three kilograms. The light connects directly to 230 V mains. It is protection class I, which means it needs an earth conductor, and SLV's instructions reserve installation for a qualified electrician.
Which bulbs it takes
Inside there are two E27 lampholders, each rated for a bulb of up to 25 W, so up to 50 W in total. The colour and brightness of the light therefore depend on the bulbs you choose. SLV recommends its T38 E27 LED lamp at 8 W for this fitting, in 3000 K (warm white) or 4000 K (neutral white). The frosted glass diffuses the light, so the bulbs themselves are not visible from below.
Plaster you can paint
The body is made of raw plaster. Sandpaper is included for smoothing and cleaning the surface. Once primed, the light can be painted with ordinary wall paint — for instance in the ceiling colour so the body blends into the background, or in a contrasting shade.
