Cyclone Nordlux Wall Light, Black, Flexible Arm, E14 max. 15 W

Cyclone is a wall light with a round black wall plate, a flexible metal arm and a glossy black cone-shaped shade that is white inside. The gooseneck arm lets you point the light exactly where it is needed, and the switch sits on the wall plate. The manufacturer describes its style as contemporary classic.

Size and shade adjustment

The light projects 37 cm from the wall, stands 36.5 cm high and 12.5 cm wide, and the shade is 11 cm in diameter. Compare that 37 cm reach with the distance from the wall to the spot you want to light — a pillow, the back of an armchair or a desktop. The manufacturer gives 360° tilt and 360° rotation, so the shade can be aimed down, to the side or at the wall.

You switch the light on and off at the plate, without reaching for the switch by the door. The fitting weighs 0.39 kg.

Bulb and light

The light has an E14 socket and the bulb is not included. The manufacturer allows a maximum of 15 W — in practice that limit means an LED bulb, because traditional bulbs of similar brightness draw more power. The white inside of the shade reflects the light, and the cone shape directs it onto one spot instead of spreading it around the whole room.

Installation

According to the manufacturer's instructions, the plate is fixed to the wall on a mounting bracket, and wall screws are not included — choose them to suit your wall. The fitting is protection class I: it has an earth terminal and must be connected to the yellow-green earth wire, so the connection is best left to an electrician.
