The version with a hole — for the end the cable enters

This is the end cap with a hole for the supply cable, made for the round LED profile LUMINES MICO. A single length of profile normally needs two caps: this one with a hole at the feed end and a blank at the far end. Ordering two of the same is the commonest mistake when putting a profile together — count the ends before they go into the basket.

MICO: a profile for shelves and cabinets

MICO is among the smallest profiles Lumines makes — round in section, designed to light shelves, cabinet interiors and display cases. The manufacturer classes it as decorative rather than functional lighting: the light leaves perpendicular, the driver sits outside the profile, and lengths cannot be joined into a continuous run. The cap reproduces exactly that round section, so it is not a universal part — an element from another system will either not go in or will not sit flush against the edge.

Inox, the colour of stainless steel

This version is inox — a cool, silvery steel tone matched to the anodised INOX version of the profile itself. The manufacturer also offers MICO caps in white (12-0981-00), black (12-0982-00), silver (12-0985-00) and grey (12-0984-00), plus a separate aluminium variant. Matching the colour to the profile is worth the trouble: the cap is the only element visible on the end face, and a mismatched shade stands out more than the profile does.

What end caps are for

They do three jobs. Aesthetic: they close the open section where the edge of the LED strip and the cable would show. Protective: they keep dust out and stop the strip being caught accidentally — inside a cabinet or under a shelf that happens more often than you would expect. Structural: they press the cover and the strip into place, steadying the assembly at the end of the run. The cap pushes on, with no screws and no glue.
