The Endon Dune is a semi-flush ceiling light made from a single black band bent into three overlapping rings of different sizes. A white diffuser strip runs along the inner face of the band, and the whole piece is carried on a round black ceiling plate.
How much room it takes under the ceiling
The fitting is 53.5 cm across and drops 20 cm below the ceiling. Endon files it under fittings for low ceilings: the rings stand down from the plate instead of hanging on cables, so it takes less height than a pendant of similar scale — but it is not a flat flush fitting either, and those 20 cm are the figure to compare with the clearance you want underneath.
The fitting is protection class II, double insulated, so no earth wire is needed and it goes into older wiring without an earth. It weighs 1.52 kg net and 3.43 kg boxed.
How much light it gives and how it dims
The source is a built-in 42 W LED module supplied together with its driver — nothing has to be bought alongside, but the module cannot be replaced once it has run its life. It burns at 3000 K, a warm white close to a traditional filament bulb.
Endon quotes 2350 lm, roughly what three old 60 W bulbs used to give — that is the figure to weigh against the floor area if the Dune is to be the only light in the room. It dims, but the manufacturer specifies a trailing edge dimmer switch; a plain leading edge dimmer is not part of the design.
Finish and the rooms the manufacturer intended
The band carries a textured black finish and the white diffuser faces inward — light therefore leaves sideways, onto the ceiling and across the neighbouring rings, rather than in a narrow cone straight down. Switched off, what you see is the drawing of three interlocking circles.
Endon intends the fitting for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms. The same Dune family includes a pendant version, so two rooms can be lit to match.
