Fulton O572WL-L6W is an outdoor wall light shaped as a 10 × 10 × 10 cm cube in white powder-coated aluminium. The body is open at the top and at the bottom, so the light leaves in two beams — up the wall and down beneath the fitting. The LED module is built in permanently.

Shaping the beam

Movable shutters sit in both openings. Adjusting them narrows or widens the cone on the wall, so the same fitting draws either a narrow band or a broad patch. The manufacturer gives a beam angle of 64°, which is the figure before the shutters are set.

The module puts out 400 lumens at 3000 K, warm white with a slightly yellow cast that looks harsh on neither render nor a timber façade. Colour rendering is Ra 80. This is a fitting for picking out a wall rather than lighting a whole driveway: 400 lm is roughly what an old 40 W bulb gave.

The light source cannot be replaced

The diode is enclosed in the body and there is no lampholder. Nothing has to be bought separately, but nothing can be swapped either — the manufacturer rates the module at 50,000 operating hours. The fitting draws 6 W and is not dimmable, so a dimmer on the supply line will make no difference to it.

Mounting and outdoor conditions

The fitting is rated IP54: protected against dust and against splashing water from every direction, so it can sit on an exposed façade, on a fence and on a balcony wall. Protection class I calls for an earth conductor — the box in the wall has to carry a PE core.

The body mounts on the wall surface, weighs 0.61 kg and accepts a wide supply range of AC 100–260 V. The 10 cm cube projects from the wall exactly as far as it is wide, a figure worth comparing with the width of the pier or door frame it is meant to sit beside.
