Estella is an octagonal Gallery Direct wall mirror measuring 91 × 91 cm. At its centre sits an octagonal glass with a bevelled edge, surrounded by several overlapping octagons of thin metal rod, each turned against the next, in a gold finish.
How big it is and where to hang it
The mirror is 91 cm wide and 91 cm high, and it stands only 2.5 cm off the wall. The metal frame takes up 23 cm on each side, so the glass itself is about 45 cm across: close up it holds a reflection of your face and shoulders, but not your whole figure. It needs a clear area of 91 × 91 cm on the wall — a figure to compare with the width of the chest of drawers, console or sofa it is meant to hang above.
Hanging and delivery
The mirror arrives ready to hang. On the back it has a keyhole fixing, a slot that slides over the head of a screw set in the wall, and the manufacturer intends it to hang in portrait orientation. It weighs 4.4 kg, so the screw and wall plug need to suit that weight and the type of wall — particularly on plasterboard.
The parcel measures 99 × 100 × 5 cm and weighs 8.05 kg. It is a flat but almost metre-wide box, worth checking against the width of your doors and lift before delivery.
What it is made of
The frame is metal in a gold finish, and the glass has bevelled edges — the cut edge catches the light and emphasises the octagonal shape of the glass. The frame is open, so the wall shows between the rods and its colour becomes part of the composition: the lighter and plainer the background, the more clearly the gold lines stand out. The geometric form without ornament suits contemporary interiors.
