London Big 492WH is a two-arm garden lantern in classic English style: two lantern heads on a decorative bracket, mounted on a telescopic pole. It is made of cast aluminium powder-coated white (RAL 9003), and the lantern panes are clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate.
What the set includes and how tall it is
The set is three Norlys articles: the fitting with two lanterns (4024), the terminal (3040) and the telescopic pole (3010). Height adjusts between 191 and 279 cm, so the lantern can sit low beside a terrace or rise above a park path. The arms span 91 cm and the whole set weighs 12.91 kg.
The pole is bolted down through three ø10.5 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø240 mm circle. The foundation parts are separate articles: concrete foundation 7668, concrete-in anchor 305, ground anchor 306 and adapters 108 and 6010.
Bulbs and light
Each of the two lanterns has an E27 socket for an LED lamp of up to 11 W. Bulbs are not included and are changed by the user, so you choose the colour and brightness – 2700–3000 K is the usual warm choice for a garden. The light is open: the bulb is visible through the clear panes, so its shape becomes part of how the lantern looks.
Installation and durability
The terminals take conductors up to 4 × 2.5 mm² and allow looping through to the next lantern at the same cross-section, so several lanterns along a path run from one line. The gland accepts round cable of 7–12.5 mm diameter. The fitting is protection class II, double-insulated, and needs no protective earth.
IP54 protects it against splashing water and rain, and IK07 impact resistance is adequate for gardens and parks, which is what the manufacturer designed it for. The series also includes versions with one (491) and three (495) lanterns, and the black 492BL.
