Gea Luce GES2112C recessed LED step light, brown, 3 W, IP65

Gea Luce GES2112C is a brown recessed step light specified by the manufacturer for outdoor use. Its circular face surrounds a recessed light window with horizontal divisions. An aluminium body and glass diffuser make this a small orientation light rather than a fitting intended to illuminate an entire area.

Allow space behind the mounting surface

The visible face measures 90 mm in diameter, while the drawing gives the light body a depth of 33 mm. The installation opening is 82 mm in diameter. The supplied mounting box requires 66 mm of depth, so the space behind the surface matters as much as the size of the visible circle. Compare these dimensions with the proposed wall construction before preparing a recess beside steps or along a passage. Planning for the box avoids judging the installation solely by the shallow appearance of the front.

Warm orientation lighting with on–off control

The integrated 3 W LED module provides 98 lm at 3000 K. This is warm-white light for local illumination. When designing a staircase, assess the spacing between fittings rather than expecting one point to light the whole flight. The manufacturer describes the output as indirect and specifies an angle of 149°. Operation is on–off only: the fitting is not dimmable, so a dimmer should not be part of the brightness-control plan.

Included parts and the required connection

The LED module, transformer and mounting box are included. The supply is 220–240 V AC. The installation manual requires an IP65 terminal block, which is not supplied, and installation by qualified personnel. Disconnect mains power before any work. IP65 protection and the manufacturer's explicit outdoor designation support considering this fitting for terrace steps.

The simple circular front suits modern and minimalist architectural schemes without adding an ornamental lamp shape. For cleaning, the manufacturer recommends a damp cloth with mild detergent followed by gentle drying. Cables and electrical components must not be exposed to water or detergent.
