HS9143-GD is a small table lamp with a ceramic base whose fluted surface carries vertical stripes – white alternating with gold. A tapered shade in white fabric sits on the base, and the gold neck below the lampholder repeats the colour of the stripes.
How big it is and where it fits
The lamp is 28.5 cm high and the shade is 18 cm in diameter. That diameter sets the space the lamp needs on a surface – compare it with the free area on the bedside table, chest of drawers or shelf where it is meant to stand.
It is intended for the living room and the bedroom. Gold stripes on glossy white ceramic give it a glamour character. The lamp is powered by a cable with a plug, and according to the manufacturer's drawing the switch sits on the cable, so the light goes on without reaching under the shade.
Which bulb and what kind of light
The lampholder takes an E27 cap – the large standard screw base used by most household bulbs. The manufacturer allows a conventional bulb or an LED bulb of up to 40 W. No bulb is included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself – for bedrooms and living rooms warm light of 2700–3000 K, close to a traditional bulb, is the usual choice.
The shade is placed on the lampholder and secured with a ring, then the bulb is screwed in – as the assembly instructions show. Light passes through the white fabric and leaves through the open bottom and top of the shade, so the surface around the base is lit as well.
