Italux Modulus recessed LED ceiling light matt white 15 W 17.5 cm RCS-9800-175-15W-WH-SWK

Italux Modulus RCS-9800-175-15W-WH-SWK is a circular recessed LED ceiling light with a matt white aluminium body. Its broad white rim surrounds a pale, finely textured light surface. This particular version measures 17.5 cm across and is rated at 15 W; it should not be confused with the larger fitting in the same Modulus family.

Check the cut-out, not just the visible diameter

The manufacturer specifies a 16 cm diameter mounting hole and a fitting height of 4 cm. The outer diameter is therefore not the size of the ceiling cut-out. When replacing an existing light, compare both measurements with the opening and check the space available for the recessed installation. This is an inset fitting, rather than a surface-mounted ceiling light for a ceiling without an opening.

Choose the colour temperature before installation

There are three settings: 3000 K, 4000 K and 6000 K. These provide warmer, more neutral and cooler white light respectively. Italux describes the function as choosing the colour before installation, not as continuously adjusting the colour temperature during use. Decide on the setting before completing the installation, particularly when several fittings will sit alongside one another.

The specified light output is 1500 lm, with an AC 220–240 V supply. The light source is LED, rather than an E27 or GU10 bulb. This fitting is not dimmable. Selecting a white-light colour should therefore not be mistaken for a way to adjust brightness or operate the fitting through a dimmer.

A simple ceiling layout with front-side protection

The unadorned circular form suits modern, modernist and minimalist interiors. It can be considered for ceiling lighting in living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, entrances and corridors, including hotel or restaurant spaces. The number and arrangement of fittings need to suit the individual room.

The stated IP44 rating applies to the front of the fitting, not automatically to the complete installation. Bathroom placement must take this limitation and the requirements of the relevant installation zone into account. The manufacturer specifies a five-year warranty.
