KITESURF 7144 Mantra LED wall light black 8 W 640 lm 3000 K 15 cm

KITESURF 7144 is a round wall light 15 cm across in which the luminous ring is offset from the black frame — on one side it projects beyond its outline, on the other it hides behind it. That simple asymmetry makes the fitting look different from every angle although it consists of only two circles. A horizontal baffle crosses the circle, shielding the source from below and throwing part of the light onto the wall.

Three materials in one body

Mantra lists aluminium, silicone and steel for this model. The aluminium forms the body and carries the heat away, the silicone is the material of the glowing ring — it is what gives an even, matt line of light rather than a chain of visible diodes — and the steel reinforces the fixing. The finish is matt black, the same shade on both rings.

640 lm directed, 1000 lm measured in full

The manufacturer quotes two figures and both make sense: 640 lm is the useful output and 1000 lm the result measured over a full 360°. The difference is the light that lands on the wall behind the fitting and returns as a glow — precisely the effect a wall light of this shape is bought for. Output is 8 W, colour temperature 3000 K, colour rendering index 80.

Integrated LED, not dimmable

The light source is built in and cannot be replaced; the manufacturer declares 20 000 hours of operation and 30 000 switching cycles — the second number matters exactly on a wall light in a hallway or beside a bed, switched on and off many times a day. The fitting is not designed for dimming, so it should not be wired to a wall dimmer.

Installation

The fitting stands 4.8 cm proud of the wall, and the cable tail is 0.2 m — enough to connect in a standard back box, but not enough to shift the fitting relative to the outlet, so the position has to be set precisely. It is Class II and needs no earth conductor. IP20 places it in dry rooms. At 0.75 kg it poses no problem for an ordinary plug, plasterboard included.
