LAFAYETTE children's wardrobe, 2 doors, 95x52x175 cm, white (Neige), solid wood and MDF, Théo-Bébé

The LAFAYETTE wardrobe is a two-door children's wardrobe 175 cm tall, in the white called Neige. Behind the doors are two hanging rails and five shelves.

An interior planned around baby clothes

Two rails and five shelves is not an arbitrary layout. Baby clothes are short — a full-height hanging space would be wasted, so the volume is split into two shorter hanging zones, one above the other. The shelves take what does not go on a hanger anyway: nappies, bedding, towels, toy baskets. Four child-sized Théo-Bébé hangers come with the wardrobe.

Louis XVI, scaled for a nursery

The LAFAYETTE collection refers to the Louis XVI style, recognisable by turned legs with three grooves. That detail is what separates this wardrobe from a plain box on a plinth: the piece stands on legs, leaving a gap beneath, and reads lighter than its 175 cm would suggest. The brass knobs on both doors are the only warm accent on the white surface.

What it is made of

The construction combines solid wood — Australian white cedar, melia azedarach and neem — with MDF; the screws are stainless steel. The finish is water-based paint and varnish with no solvent emissions, which in a room where an infant sleeps is a real argument rather than a marketing one. The piece meets NF EN 716 (2018) and NF EN 12221+A1 (2013).

Soft-closing doors

The doors run on soft-close runners. In a nursery that is a functional feature, not a luxury: the wardrobe gets opened and shut while the child is asleep, and damped closing removes the bang that wakes them. It also protects fingers.

Delivery and assembly

The wardrobe is delivered flat-packed in three cartons weighing 87.65 kg in total, with instructions and an assembly key included. At that weight and height, plan to assemble it with two people and in its final position — an assembled 95 × 52 × 175 cm piece will not go through a narrow doorway on its own. The packaging is free of plastic and polystyrene. Care: soap and water. The manufacturer gives a 3-year warranty. The collection is also available in the shade Lune.
