CAMELEON PUMPKIN L is an open lampshade built from thin metal rods that form a flattened, pumpkin-like body 70 cm wide and 42 cm high. The finish is beige (P038), and a small cone holding the light source sits in the middle of the underside. The shade belongs to the CAMELEON system and is not a complete luminaire on its own.

How big the shade is and where to hang it

70 cm of width is closer to a large chandelier than to an ordinary pendant: a 40 cm shade keeps its proportions above a table 80–90 cm wide, while this one covers almost that entire width. Before choosing a spot, compare the 70 cm with the length of your tabletop or with the free space above a kitchen island.

The body is 42 cm high and the shade weighs 1.82 kg — that weight is carried by the CAMELEON cable, whose length sets the drop. Under a low ceiling those 42 cm come off the headroom left below the fitting.

What you need to buy alongside it

This is the shade alone. The manufacturer allows it to be used only with CAMELEON cables and canopies, and lists one CAMELEON CABLE with a GU10 lampholder as the matching part. Without it the shade has no way to hang and no way to light up.

No light source is included, and in that lampholder the manufacturer permits LED bulbs up to 10 W only. You choose the colour temperature and brightness yourself, but within that limit — a GU10 halogen is ruled out.

Construction and where it may be installed

The rods form an open dome, so the light is not trapped inside the shade: it leaves the central cone downwards, and the whole structure stays visible between the rods. The manufacturer intends the shade for indoor use — it is not meant for outdoor locations. It is made in Poland and ships in a single 77 × 77 × 54 cm carton.
