Liva Smart Colour LED Flush Ceiling Light White Nordlux

Liva Smart Colour is a round flush ceiling light 36 cm across and 3,2 cm deep, in a white plastic body. It lights in two independently controlled zones: an opal cover facing downwards and a narrow ring that washes the ceiling around the fitting. Each zone takes its own light colour.

How big it is and where it may be fitted

The 36 cm diameter is the figure to compare with the free ceiling area where you plan to fit it. The body stands 3,2 cm clear of the ceiling, so it does not noticeably lower the room, and it weighs 1,18 kg.

An IP54 rating means a dust-tight body that withstands splashes arriving from any direction, which is why the manufacturer clears the fitting for a bathroom. It is class II, double insulated: no earth conductor is needed to wire it.

How much light it gives and how it is controlled

The built-in LED module draws 21 W and delivers 2100 lm, roughly two and a half times the output of a former 60 W bulb — that is main room lighting rather than an accent. Colour temperature is set steplessly between 2700 and 6500 K, from warm yellowish light to cool white, and a colour can be chosen independently of it. Colour rendering of Ra 80 and a 120° beam suit general room lighting rather than work at a mirror or a worktop.

Control runs through the Nordlux Smart Light app from the App Store and Google Play, connecting over Bluetooth — the phone has to be within 8 m of the fitting. The same fitting also answers the Smart Remote Control, which is bought separately.

What is in the box and what you add

The light source is built in permanently and cannot be replaced. The manufacturer rates it at 25 000 hours, after which the whole fitting is changed — a cost that counts differently from the price of a bulb.

Mounting screws are not supplied; they are chosen to suit the ceiling. The supply cable should be 1,0–1,5 mm² in cross-section, with the cores stripped to 8 mm. The manufacturer also states that the fittings cannot be wired in series — each one needs its own supply, which has to be planned for when several are going into one room.
