Luces Exclusivas PALINZA LE45318 Pendant Light White E27 40 cm

PALINZA is a pendant light with an asymmetrical, pebble-shaped shade in white. The shade surface is matt and finely grained — that is the texture of the material it is cast from: polyurethane with resin. The aperture the light comes out of sits on the underside, offset towards one edge.

Its dimensions and how low it hangs

The shade has an oval footprint of 40 × 32 cm and stands 23 cm high. The 40 cm width holds its proportions over a table 80–90 cm wide; the bottom edge of the shade is then usually set 70–80 cm above the tabletop so the light covers the whole surface.

The manufacturer gives a total height of 250 cm — that is how much the lamp occupies below the ceiling at full drop. The ceiling rose measures 10 cm across and 2.5 cm high, so it covers a standard installation box.

How much light it gives

The fitting has one light point with an E27 cap, and the maximum lamp power is 12 W. No bulb is supplied, so you choose the colour and the brightness yourself — an LED lamp fits inside that limit, since classic E27 incandescent bulbs start above it. At 2700–3000 K the light is warm and slightly yellow.

The shade is opaque and its aperture is on the underside and offset to one side, so the light falls downwards at a slight angle. The bulb is visible from below, which is worth allowing for when choosing its shape and finish and when setting the drop. The lamp can be dimmed, but that needs a dimmable bulb and a dimmer.

Materials and where it fits

The shade is cast from polyurethane and resin — hence the even, matt texture with no gloss and the softly rounded edges with no visible seams or fittings. The whole shade is white, as are the cable and the ceiling rose. The asymmetrical form looks different from every side, so the hanging position decides which silhouette you see from the sofa or from the doorway.

The manufacturer describes PALINZA as a lamp for minimalist, japandi and Scandinavian interiors; the white and the absence of ornament also suit plain modern schemes. The fitting is for dry indoor rooms — it works above a dining table and as a single point in a living room.
