The raw LUMINES Q18 is an aluminium LED profile that fits over the edge of an 18 mm shelf. Article 10-0690-20 is supplied as a 2.02 m profile length. Its angled strip channel directs light at 45° towards the shelf interior rather than only vertically downwards.
Match the shelf edge before ordering
Measure both the board thickness and the edge you intend to illuminate. Q18 identifies the system for 18 mm boards; the similar-looking Q20 is a different profile. Appearance alone is therefore not a reliable compatibility check. The manufacturer specifies 2020 mm for this article, so use that actual length when planning the cabinet rather than treating the rounded two-metre description as an exact measurement.
The profile slides onto the board. The manufacturer's installation diagrams show double-sided tape and an alternative using mounting adhesive. Plan the cable route before fixing the profile, as the supply wiring also needs to be accommodated within the furniture design.
Choose the strip and BASIC cover
The channel accommodates an LED strip up to 12 mm wide. Q18 works with BASIC covers, with transparent, frosted and milky versions among the system's choices. Select the cover to suit the intended appearance of the light line. The profile itself does not determine colour temperature or brightness: these depend on the selected strip and the complete configuration.
The power supply is positioned outside the profile, so allow space for it separately in the design. Photographs of illuminated shelving illustrate a completed system, not the contents supplied with this individual profile length.
A straight line within the furniture
Q18 is intended for decorative lighting inside shelves and cabinets. It can form part of kitchen furniture, wardrobe storage or a bookcase where the edge matches the 18 mm system. Its simple cross-section and linear form suit modern, minimalist furniture. Raw aluminium is a different finish from silver anodised aluminium; check the finish designation as well as the profile family when matching additional lengths.
