MAIRANA is a wall light built around a round plate 25 cm across, cream white with grey marbled veining. A narrow black bar with rounded ends runs across its centre, standing proud of the plate and reaching past its lower edge. The plate is held off the wall on a small round bracket.

How big it is and how far it stands off the wall

The plate alone is 25 cm across; the whole thing including the black bar is 29 cm tall. It projects 8 cm from the wall — shallow enough to stay clear of anyone passing along a corridor, and deep enough that the plate hangs in front of the wall rather than resting on it.

It runs off a 230 V supply and the manufacturer states one light point. Set the 25 cm against the width of the wall or the piece of furniture it will hang above: that is the size of a dinner plate, so the fitting reads as a single accent rather than as a run.

How much light it gives and of what kind

The built-in LED module draws 6 W and gives 224 lm at 3000 K, a warm white with a yellowish cast. Those 224 lm are well below an old 40 W bulb — MAIRANA is a decorative fitting: it lights its own plate and the wall around it rather than the room. Reading or working in that spot needs its own light.

The source is included and built in, so the fitting works as soon as it is wired, but the lamp cannot be swapped and its colour cannot be changed — when the module is spent, the whole wall light is replaced.

What it is made of and what interior it suits

The body is steel and aluminium in matt black, and the pale veined plate is plastic imitating alabaster — a stone imitation rather than stone. That is worth knowing, because the same MAIRANA family also includes fittings in real marble, under different symbols and in different sizes.

The manufacturer intends this wall light for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and hotel interiors. The form is modern in the simple sense: two shapes, a circle and a vertical stroke, with no ornament and no visible screws.
