Mantra CALA 8191 LED Wall Light Gold 36W 3000K 30x28 cm

The Mantra CALA 8191 is an LED wall light made of three gold aluminium tubes of different lengths mounted on a rectangular wall plate. The tubes are staggered vertically, and a diffuser is visible at both ends of each one.

Size and mounting

The light is 30 cm high and 28 cm wide — the length of the longest tube and the width of the plate. It projects 6.6 cm from the wall, so it does not get in the way of anyone walking past. The wall plate is 11 cm high, and the fitting weighs 1.2 kg net.

It is fixed on a bracket screwed to the wall; the manufacturer's instructions give a hole spacing of 140 mm. It runs on 220–240 V, and protection class I means an earth conductor is required.

How much light, and what kind

The LED module draws 36 W. The manufacturer gives two flux figures: 3000 lm for the source itself and 2520 lm leaving the fitting. That is a lot for a wall light — more than three old 60 W bulbs — so in a small room it can act as the main light. The 3000 K colour temperature is warm white, and CRI 80 is standard colour rendering.

The light is not dimmable. The LED source cannot be replaced, so the fitting lasts as long as its diodes — the manufacturer states 30,000 hours and 30,000 switching cycles, which at three hours a day comes to about 27 years. The declared energy class is F.

The CALA series

CALA is a Mantra family of wall and ceiling lights in metal and aluminium. The same wall light is also available in black (8190), so the finish can be matched to the rest of the room.
