Modena 350BL Outdoor Wall Light Black E27 NORLYS

Modena 350BL is an outdoor wall light shaped as a classic lantern: glazed side panels, a pointed roof topped with a spire and a decorative finial underneath. The lantern stands upright on a curved arm that comes out of a vertical wall plate. The whole fitting is black, RAL 9005.

Size and wall mounting

The light is 62 cm tall and 25 cm wide, and projects 33 cm from the wall. The wall plate is 23 cm high — compare that with the free strip of wall beside the door or between the windows. It is fixed with four screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 25 × 140 mm. The manufacturer also allows mounting on the corner of a building, which needs the 152 corner bracket, sold separately.

The supply cable must be round, 7–10.5 mm in diameter, and the terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm². The light is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor. The manufacturer's manual reserves installation for a qualified electrician.

Light source

The fitting takes one pear-shaped E27 bulb, size A55–A60, no longer than 110 mm; the manufacturer allows LED up to 9 W. The bulb is not included, so you choose the brightness and colour of the light yourself. As a reference the manufacturer names an 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K LED bulb — roughly the output of an old 60 W incandescent, in warm, slightly yellow light.

The clear polycarbonate panels do not diffuse the light: the bulb stays visible and nothing shields it, so its shape becomes part of how the lantern looks.

Build and operating conditions

The body is powder-coated cast aluminium and the lantern panels are UV-stabilised polycarbonate, which limits yellowing in sunlight. IP54 means protection against dust and against water splashed from any direction, so the light can hang on a facade with no roof over it. The manufacturer specifies an operating range of −20 to +45 °C.

The EPDM gasket at the cable entry is pierced with the cable itself only — the manual warns that damaging it with a tool lowers the IP rating and voids the warranty. The Modena series also includes the 351 wall light, with the lantern hanging below the arm, as well as garden posts and lanterns in the same style.
