NAPLES is a pendant light with a grey concrete shade whose surface is made of triangular facets, with a jagged, star-shaped outline along the lower edge. The shade hangs from a black cable beneath a small, round black ceiling canopy.
Size and where to hang it
The shade measures 19.8 cm in diameter and 16 cm in height, and the suspension length is 100 cm. This is a small fitting: on its own it suits a modest area, while over a longer worktop or table several are hung in a row – which is how the manufacturer itself shows it, with two and three pendants above a counter. The ceiling canopy is 10 cm across.
The fitting weighs 1.24 kg.
Bulb and light
The pendant has an E27 lampholder intended for LED lamps of no more than 7 W and runs on 230 V mains. The bulb is not included; Rendl recommends a small E27 LED mini-ball lamp (OSRAM Parathom Mini-Ball, article G13307). The bulb can be seen from below, so its shape matters.
The concrete shade is opaque and sends all of the light downwards onto the worktop or table beneath it. The manufacturer lists NAPLES among its dimmable pendants – dimming needs an LED lamp marked as dimmable and a dimmer switch.
Where it fits
Raw concrete and the geometric shade combine an industrial character with a modern one. Rendl intends this pendant for hanging over dining and kitchen tables, over worktops and kitchen islands, and for living rooms and bedrooms.
