Nordlux Jim To-Go portable outdoor LED lamp, blue, USB rechargeable

The blue Nordlux Jim To-Go, article 2218105006, is a portable outdoor lamp with a rechargeable battery. An open metal cage surrounds a pale plastic diffuser, while a rounded handle provides a carrying point. Designed by Says Who, its lantern-like outline combines curved ribs with the restrained detailing of contemporary Scandinavian design.

Choose brightness and battery duration together

The integrated 3 W LED produces warm white light at 2700 K. Moodmaker™ cycles through three fixed outputs of 300, 150 and 75 lumens using the button on the base. The next press switches the light off. This is stepped control rather than a continuously variable dimming range.

Nordlux specifies battery runtimes of 5, 10 and 18 hours at those respective settings. Selecting less light therefore extends the interval between charges. Jim can provide local light around a table, but its 300-lumen maximum should not be read as a promise to illuminate an entire garden. The LED source is integrated and non-replaceable, so there is no separate bulb to select.

A charging cable, not a permanent power lead

A white 100 cm Micro-USB cable is included. It is used for charging; its length does not define where the lamp must stand when running on its battery. Once charged, the lamp can be moved without keeping that cable connected.

The stated charging time from 0 to 100% is 7 hours. The instructions specify a DC 5 V, 1 A charging input. Allow for the recharge period as well as the runtime of your chosen brightness setting when planning an evening's use. The supplied cable replenishes the battery, while the built-in LED provides the light: these are distinct parts of the lamp's equipment.

Allow room for the whole cage

The body is 30.3 cm high and the lamp is 28 cm wide. The inner diffuser measures 16 cm in diameter. Compare the available surface with the full outer width, not just the central diffuser. The blue open-frame construction remains visible when the light is switched off.

The manufacturer identifies gardens, terraces and balconies as intended settings. IP54 provides protection against dust and splashing water, not immersion. Nordlux does not rate this version as suitable for seaside conditions.
