Nordlux Skot 17051001 white outdoor wall light, E27, IP44

Nordlux Skot 17051001 is a white outdoor wall light with an oval outline, ribbed glass cover and a cage across the front. A plastic body surrounds the glass while leaving its pronounced texture visible. The utilitarian shape recalls traditional technical lighting, giving the fitting an industrial appearance with a retro character.

At an entrance, garage or fence

Nordlux identifies the front door, garage and fence as places to use Skot. A balcony or terrace wall is another possible location when you want a small fitting with an enclosed glass cover rather than a spotlight on a projecting arm. Its white frame and regular cage divisions remain part of the appearance when the light is switched off.

The IP44 rating provides protection against splashing water. Nordlux does not designate this version as suitable for seaside locations, a limitation worth considering for a property close to the sea. The presence of a cage alone is not a declaration of tested impact resistance.

Choose a separate E27 bulb

Inside is one E27 socket for a bulb rated at a maximum of 60 W. No bulb is included, so the light source needs to be selected separately. That choice determines the light colour and brightness: the warm glow shown in the photographs is not a fixed colour temperature built into the fitting.

Dimming is possible with an appropriate dimmable bulb and compatible controls. A dimmability statement does not mean that every E27 bulb will work with a dimmer. The replaceable bulb arrangement also distinguishes Skot from fittings with a permanently integrated LED module.

Allow for the projection from the wall

Nordlux gives dimensions of 18 × 10 cm and a projection of 11 cm. Compare these measurements with the available space beside a door frame and the swing of an opening door before installation. The fitting uses a 230 V supply, has Class II protection and supports parallel connection. It needs connection to the electrical installation rather than solar charging or a portable power source.
