Nordlux Umberto 2210100001 white recessed downlight, GU10, IP44

Nordlux Umberto 2210100001 is a round white recessed downlight with a tilting ring around the bulb. Its construction combines aluminium and plastic, with the housing and connection sitting above the ceiling after installation. This is a single GU10 fitting for a replaceable bulb, rather than a light with an integrated LED module.

Choose the bulb for the light you need

The bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. The maximum permitted bulb wattage is 7.5 W: this is a lamp limit, not the consumption of a factory-fitted light source. Your choice of GU10 determines colour temperature, light output and beam angle. Illuminated product photographs demonstrate the fitting in use, not a bulb supplied in the box.

The ring tilts through 15° to adjust the direction of light. Dimming requires a dimmable bulb and compatible control equipment; the fitting alone does not make an ordinary bulb dimmable. Compare the actual bulb specifications before planning the spacing of several downlights.

Check the opening and the ceiling void

Umberto needs a circular cut-out measuring 7.6 cm in diameter. Nordlux specifies an overall height of 8 cm, a recessed-body height of 6.6 cm and an outer trim diameter of 9.6 cm. When replacing an existing spot, check both the opening and the available installation space rather than matching only the visible ring.

The fitting pushes into place without springs or brackets. The instructions illustrate ceiling material 10–20 mm thick and the required clearances above it. Direct installation into insulation is permitted, but this does not cancel the dimensions shown in the mounting instructions. The supply is 220–240 V, and parallel connection of several fittings is supported.

A simple ceiling detail, including bathroom use

The plain circular trim, without decorative arms, suits modern and minimalist interiors. Its recessed format can be used in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and corridors. The number of spots needed depends on the chosen lamps; one fitting is not a promise of whole-room illumination.

Nordlux specifically allows bathroom use. However, the instructions distinguish IP44 on the room-facing side from IP20 above the ceiling. The connection therefore must not be treated as splash-protected. The installation position and electrical work must follow the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable local requirements.
