Lofoten 1962BL is an outdoor ceiling light in the shape of a cube: a black steel frame holds opal PMMA panels on the sides and underneath. It mounts directly to the ceiling, and the bulb is hidden entirely behind the frosted panels.
How big it is and where to mount it
The body measures 23 × 23 cm, and with its mounting plate the light is 27 cm high. Compare that with the ceiling height above your entrance or terrace. Norlys intends it for lighting terraces, entrances and gazebos.
The luminaire weighs 4.15 kg net, so it needs to be fixed into a load-bearing surface. It is screwed to the ceiling through two oval 5 × 10 mm holes spaced 35 mm apart.
What light it gives and what to buy separately
Inside is an E27 socket for an A55–A60 LED lamp of up to 11 W. The bulb is not included, so you choose the colour temperature and brightness yourself, and you can replace the lamp yourself when it wears out. The opal panels spread the light sideways and downwards, so the bulb does not dazzle and the light falls softly around the fitting.
Build and connection
The frame is electro-galvanised steel, powder-coated black (RAL 9005). IP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction, and protection class II means double insulation, so no protective earth conductor is needed. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the supply cable can be 7 to 10.5 mm in diameter. The light can be looped through with cable up to 2 × 1.5 mm², so several fittings can run from one line.
The form is classic and simple: a slim frame without ornament and smooth panel surfaces.
