Modena Big 380BD is a classic outdoor wall light in the form of a hexagonal lantern on an upward-pointing arm, with a sharp spire on the roof and a decorative finial below. The body is cast aluminium, powder-coated in a black finish with gold patina. The lantern is 76 cm high and 32 cm wide, and projects 47 cm from the wall.
Size and installation
This is a large fitting: compare its 76 cm height and 47 cm projection with the spot beside the entrance, gate or corner where it is to hang. It weighs 3.36 kg. The base is screwed on with four screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 25 × 140 mm. On a building corner the lantern is mounted on the 152 corner bracket, sold separately.
The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the EPDM gland accepts a cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. The luminaire is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor.
Light source
The lantern has an E27 socket and takes an LED lamp of up to 9 W. No bulb is included — you choose the colour and brightness yourself, and the manufacturer lists classic E27 LED lamps such as Philips Master LEDbulb or Osram Parathom Classic as suitable. The source is user-replaceable.
The clear panes of UV-stabilised polycarbonate do not diffuse the light, so the bulb itself is visible through them — its look matters here. If a pane is damaged, the manufacturer offers the 06380004 diffuser service kit. IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water.
Where it fits
Norlys describes Modena as a wall light of classic design: the hexagonal lantern with its spire and curved bracket recalls traditional street lanterns. In our catalogue it is listed for gardens and facades.
