Sandvik Down 1741BL is a Norlys outdoor wall light shaped as a rectangular block that shines downward only. The cast-aluminium body is powder-coated black (RAL 9005), and the light opening in the underside is closed with clear safety glass. A GU10 LED lamp is included, so the fitting works as soon as it is connected.
Size and installation
The wall light is 13.5 cm high and 8 cm wide and projects 11 cm from the wall, which are the figures to compare with the free strip beside a front door or garage door. It is fixed with two screws through ø4.5 mm holes 37 × 80 mm apart. For mounting on a building corner Norlys offers corner bracket 131, sold separately.
The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next fitting (up to 3 × 1.5 mm²), so a row of these on a façade needs one supply cable rather than one per light. The gland takes a cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. It is a protection class I fitting and needs the earth conductor connected; IP65 and IK08 impact resistance allow mounting on a wall with no roof over it.
What light it gives
The supplied Philips MASTER LED ExpertColor GU10 lamp draws 3.9 W and gives warm 2700 K light with accurate Ra 90 colour rendering. 210 lm leaves the fitting in a narrow 25° beam aimed only downward: it throws a defined pool of light on the wall below, and nothing goes up towards the window above or the sky. It is lighting for an entrance, a house number or a section of wall, not for a whole yard.
The fitting is phase-dimmable with either a trailing-edge (TE) or a leading-edge (LE) dimmer. The user replaces the GU10 lamp; if the light is to be dimmed, the replacement lamp must be dimmable too.
