Vansbro 1920CO is an outdoor wall light in natural copper: a round wall plate, an arm that bends downwards like a traditional stable lamp, a small dome and a flat, cone-shaped shade. Beneath the shade sits a clear, UV-stabilised polycarbonate cover that encloses the bulb.
Size and installation
According to the producer's drawing the fitting is 33.5 cm high and projects 38 cm from the wall, and the shade is 27.5 cm across. Compare the 38 cm projection with the free space by the wall, for example the swing of a door leaf. The light weighs 1.39 kg.
It is fixed on the mounting box supplied with it. The producer sells corner bracket 153 separately, which lets the light be mounted on the corner of a building. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and up to 2 × 1.5 mm² when looped through, so several lights on one facade can run off a single supply line; the gland takes round cable of ø7–10.5 mm. The light is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor.
Light source and distribution
The fitting has an E27 socket and takes an LED bulb of up to 9 W in the A55–A60 shape, the classic pear form. No bulb is included, so you choose the colour temperature and brightness yourself, and the user replaces it. The A55–A60 limit means a larger decorative globe or a long candle bulb may not fit inside the cover.
The light is open and partly shielded from above: the shade sends most of the light down onto the wall and the ground below the fitting, and a ULOR of 20.5% means roughly one fifth of the light goes above the level of the fitting. IP55 means protection against dust and water jets and IK09 resistance to impacts, enough for a building wall with no canopy.
Style and use
The producer describes Vansbro as a wall light of Scandinavian design for general outdoor use – on facades, by entrances, including hotels and restaurants. The polycarbonate cover can be replaced: Norlys sells it as service kit 06240003.
