MONACO 8794 is a 160 cm floor lamp: a black lacquered steel stem bent over at the top into a cantilever, with a 30 cm smoked-glass globe hanging beneath it. The glass is the shade — open at the bottom and see-through, so the bulb stays visible. The whole thing stands on a flat rectangular base plate.
How much room it needs
The lamp is 160 cm tall and the globe on the cantilever is 30 cm across and 26 cm high. It hangs to one side of the stem, over the base, so the lamp lights the area beside it rather than above it — a position for standing next to an armchair or at the end of a sofa.
The base takes up 40 × 31 cm of floor. Compare that with the clear space between the furniture and the wall; the flat plate simply rests on the floor, so the lamp needs no clearance underneath and nothing to clip onto.
Which bulb to buy
The lamp has one E27 lampholder and takes LED sources only, up to 25 W — the manufacturer gives that figure as a ceiling, not as the lamp's consumption. No bulb is supplied, so colour and brightness are yours to choose; around 800 lm matches the old 60 W bulb.
The glass is smoked and see-through and the shade is open at the bottom, so the envelope shows through the whole globe. With that construction the shape of the bulb is part of how the lamp looks; light falls straight down through the open underside and passes softly sideways through the tinted glass.
Power, construction and what is in the box
The lamp comes with a plug and a switch fitted, so it goes into an ordinary socket and is switched at the lamp itself. Protection class II means no earth connection is needed. Supply is ~220–230 V, 50/60 Hz, and the lamp is for indoor use only.
Stem and base are lacquered steel in black RAL 9005 and the shade is glass. The lamp weighs 5.84 kg net and the parcel 8.19 kg; the box holds the lamp, the shade and the instructions. Made in Poland, in Częstochowa.
