OKO 110.5 cm Round Dining Table, Natural Finish by Nova Nook

OKO is a round dining table 110.5 cm across and 75 cm high, built around a single idea: keep the wood visible and the structure as light as possible. The top rests on four turned legs set back from the edge, so you can sit at it freely without meeting a corner with your knee.

Ash veneer on a stable core

The top is MDF board finished with ash wood veneer – the grain runs across the whole surface, and a board core moves less than solid timber as humidity changes in a heated home. The edge of the top and the legs are solid rubberwood, so the rim takes knocks well and the whole piece keeps one consistent warm tone. The finish is natural, with no stain.

How many people fit around 110.5 cm

The circumference of a 110.5 cm round top is roughly 347 cm. At the usual allowance of 60 cm per place setting, that gives four comfortable seats, or five packed in. A round top has one clear advantage over a rectangular one: nobody sits at the head and everyone can see everyone else, and the absence of corners makes it easier to move around a small dining room or kitchen nook.

Care and placement

Clean the veneered top with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away – standing water is the worst enemy of any wood-based board. Use mats under hot dishes. When planning the space, add roughly 75–80 cm on each side of the top for pulling chairs back, so at least 260 cm of clear floor along one axis.

What it suits

Pale ash, a natural finish and softly turned legs place OKO close to Scandinavian and Japandi interiors – it sits well with light walls, wool, linen and chairs on wooden frames. It works as the table in a smaller dining room, in a kitchen nook, and as a table for four in an open-plan living room, where a round top puts no sharp corners in the walkway.
