PARIS 160GA is a half-dome outdoor wall light with a hot-dip galvanised steel shade and a satin, UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffuser underneath. Hot-dip galvanising has no RAL number: it is a raw, silvery-grey metallic finish with the typical irregular pattern visible in the main photo.
Size and mounting
The fitting is 23 cm wide and 11.5 cm high and projects 14 cm from the wall – a size to compare with the space beside a door, under the eaves or along a narrow passage. It is fixed with two screws through oval 5 × 10 mm holes 90 mm apart; the oval shape gives a few millimetres of play for levelling. It weighs about 0.6 kg.
The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to loop on to the next fitting (up to 3 × 1.5 mm²), and an EPDM gland seals a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. A row of these lights along a facade can therefore run from one cable. It is a protection class I luminaire, so the protective earth must be connected.
What light it gives
It has an E27 socket for an LED lamp up to 9 W in A55–A60 shape – a wider decorative globe will not fit. No lamp is included. An LED lamp of about 800 lm gives as much light as an old 60 W bulb, and you choose the colour temperature yourself.
Light leaves only downwards, diffused by the satin cover, and the maker states ULOR 0% – nothing shines into the sky or into the windows above. It lights the wall below the fitting and the ground in front of it. IP43 protects against rain falling at up to 60°, but not against a jet of water such as a hose. The diffuser is available as a spare part (06160001).
Where it fits
Norlys describes PARIS as a fitting of classic, simple design for general use. It suits a house facade, an entrance and the outside walls of hotels and restaurants. The same body comes in black, white, copper brown and corten steel (160BL, 160WH, 160CB, 160CS) and as a version with a built-in dimmable LED module (1495 and 1498).
