Rena 2073ST Stainless Steel GU10 NORLYS Driveway Light

The Rena 2073ST is a NORLYS in-ground luminaire, recessed flush with the surface. The body is a powder-coated aluminium casting, the front stainless steel, and the opening is closed by a clear safety-glass pane on a silicone gasket. Light leaves it upwards only, in a symmetric 36° beam.

How much light it gives and where it sends it

The GU10 LED lamp is part of the luminaire. NORLYS quotes 5.5 W and 375 lm for the lamp itself, but 298 lm leave through the lens and glass, at 5.3 W drawn by the whole fitting. That second figure is the one to space further points by.

2700 K is warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional bulb, and Ra 90 keeps brick, render or bark in their own colour. The entire flux goes upward — the ULOR is 100% — so the fitting lights what stands above it, not the paving around it. To restrict that upward light, NORLYS offers a separate round shield, art. 140xx0009.

What load it takes

The manufacturer states a maximum load of 2000 kg and intends the luminaire for surfaces driven on by vehicles with pneumatic tyres. It also rules out traffic lanes where horizontal forces from sudden braking, accelerating and steering would act on the fitting — that restriction decides the position more than the kilogram figure does.

The IP68 (1 m) rating covers immersion, so water standing in a dip in the paving does no harm, and IK09 describes the housing's impact resistance. In operation the glass warms to the temperatures foreseen by standard 60598, and the operating range runs from -20 to +45 °C.

Mounting and connection

The luminaire measures 13 × 13 cm and is 15.7 cm deep — that is the space to prepare in the surface. It fixes through three ø4.5 mm holes spaced at 120° on a ø100 mm circle, in wood or in concrete. NORLYS lists connection boxes 143ZX0010, 145ZX0009 and 146ZX0009 as accessories bought separately.

A 1 m H05BQ-F 3G1 cable with a THB.391.R4A.L connector comes out of the fitting, and the gland accepts cable 7–13 mm in diameter. The supply is 220–240 V, and protection class I requires an earth connection. The light dims on a TRIAC phase dimmer, trailing edge as well as leading edge. The manufacturer reserves lamp replacement for itself, its service agent or a similarly qualified person, and advises renewing the gasket at the same time.
