Rendl PASADENA GU10 SQ II recessed downlight, white, 2x GU10 max. 7 W

The PASADENA GU10 SQ II is a twin recessed downlight in a rectangular frame of white-lacquered aluminium. Two round tilting rings with GU10 lampholders sit in the frame, and spring clips hold the fitting from behind.

How much ceiling space it needs

The manufacturer gives a mounting hole of 8 × 16 cm and a recess depth of 14 cm. That second figure decides the purchase: 14 cm of clear space has to remain above the ceiling board, and in a suspended ceiling dropped by only a few centimetres the fitting will not fit. Measure the void before ordering.

The visible frame is 17.4 × 9.2 cm, so it covers the hole with a small margin on each side. The whole fitting is 17 cm tall and weighs 400 g — mounting rests on spring clips that brace against the board, so no screws and no extra frame are needed.

Aiming the light

Each ring tilts through 30° and turns through 350° about its own axis. The two points can therefore be set independently: one onto a picture or a worktop, the other straight down. That is the difference between a fitting that lights a specific place and one that only brightens the ceiling.

The 350° range means a full turn apart from a small dead zone, so the direction is set after the frame is in place, without taking it out again.

Which lamps, and can it be dimmed

The fitting takes two GU10 lamps and the manufacturer specifies LED sources of up to 7 W per holder. Lamps are not included, so you choose the colour and the brightness yourself: 2700–3000 K is warm light, 4000 K neutral, and two lamps of around 400 lm each give accent light rather than lighting for a whole room.

Dimming is possible but depends entirely on the lamp: the manufacturer notes the fitting is dimmable with a suitable light source, meaning a lamp described as dimmable plus a dimmer in the circuit. It runs directly on 230 V and needs no driver.
