Rendl SPLASH SQ R11735 is a metal recessed downlight with a square, polished chrome face and a circular glazed light opening. The straight outer edges frame a round aperture, giving the ceiling a distinct geometric detail without a large housing projecting into the room. This is the chrome version, rather than the matt nickel variant.
Allow space above the visible frame
The visible face measures 8.3 × 8.3 cm and its rim is 0.4 cm thick. That thickness is not the depth needed to accommodate the complete fitting. Rendl specifies a circular cut-out measuring 7 cm in diameter and a recess depth of 12 cm. Before ordering, compare both the opening size and the actual space available above your ceiling.
The square face remains visible around the round cut-out. When planning several fittings, consider how their edges align with walls and neighbouring lights. Installation must be carried out by a qualified person with the power disconnected, following the manufacturer's instructions.
A replaceable GU10 lamp sets the light
SPLASH SQ takes a 230 V LED GU10 lamp rated at a maximum of 8 W. The light source is selected separately, so its specifications determine colour temperature, luminous flux and beam angle. The wattage stated for this fitting is a lamp limit, not a promise of a particular brightness. A separate voltage-reducing transformer is not required.
Dimming requires a suitable dimmable lamp and compatible control equipment. The fitting itself does not establish a dimming range or a fixed light colour. Check those characteristics when choosing the lamp, particularly when several downlights need to provide a consistent result.
Bathroom use and restrained geometry
Rendl specifies IP65 and suitability for interiors with increased humidity. The fitting can be considered for bathrooms, kitchens and hotel or restaurant washrooms, subject to the installation requirements of the particular position. Its reflective chrome finish and simple geometry suit modern, modernist and minimalist interiors. IP65 alone should not be read as confirmation that this model is intended for outdoor installation.
