The s.luce Oris XL is a 200 cm linear LED pendant: a straight white aluminium profile only 3.4 × 2.9 cm in section, hung on two cables, with an opal diffuser shining downwards. The fitting is made by hand in Germany.
How much light it gives
The integrated 80 W LED strip delivers 8000 lm — enough to serve as the main light over a large conference table or a row of desks. 4000 K is neutral white, a light that suits reading and screen work. A colour rendering index above Ra 90 means documents, samples or food look true to colour beneath it.
Light leaves at a 110° angle, so it covers a wide band of the table surface below the fitting. The lamp is not dimmable and runs from an ordinary wall switch; the series has a separate version with a radio remote control. The manufacturer states a 25,000-hour lifetime and energy class F.
Installation and service
At 200 cm the manufacturer provides for central mounting — with the canopy above the middle of the lamp — or decentralised mounting where the ceiling outlet is offset from the spot the lamp should hang over. The light source is built in: the LED strip can be replaced, but the manufacturer recommends leaving that to trained service staff only.
Where it fits
s.luce intends the Oris for conference tables, offices, co-working spaces and home offices, as well as above a dining table or a kitchen island. The slim rectangular profile without ornament is a minimalist form that does not block the view across a long table. The series spans lengths from 120 to 400 cm, white, black and aluminium finishes, and a warm 2700 K version.
