Saturne 1 Light Wall Lantern - Grey Elstead

Saturne is an outdoor wall lantern from Elstead Lighting's own range, in a grey finish and a modern, geometric form without ornament. Above the lampholder a flat, round disc shields the lamp from above, and below it sits a silver diffuser of perforated mesh through which the light passes. A straight arm on a round wall plate holds the lantern away from the wall.

Size and mounting on the facade

The lantern is 22.1 cm high and 27 cm wide, and projects 29.5 cm from the wall – worth checking next to an outward-opening door or in a narrow passage. It weighs 1.1 kg. It is intended for facades, above the front door, and for terraces and balconies.

For mounting on the corner of a building the manufacturer offers separately sold corner brackets (C-BKT2-BROWN, C-BKT2-BLACK, C-BKT5-BLACK), so the lantern can also be fitted where there is no flat stretch of wall by the entrance. IP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction, so the lantern can hang on a wall exposed to rain. It is a Class I fitting and must be connected to earth.

Materials and durability

The body combines 304 stainless steel with aluminium, and the construction also includes glass. Saturne belongs to the Coastal collection, designed for places exposed to salty sea air, and carries a 15-year manufacturer guarantee.

Lamp

The lantern has one E27 lampholder for a lamp of up to 40 W. The lamp is not included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself. The fitting is compatible with dimmable lamps – dimming needs a dimmer switch and a lamp marked as dimmable.
