The SLV NUMINOS CL PHASE L is a surface-mounted ceiling light shaped as an aluminium cylinder in matt black, 10 cm in diameter and 21.3 cm high. Light leaves only through the lower opening, where the LED module sits set back behind a black ring — the fitting shines downwards, not sideways or onto the ceiling.

How much light it gives

The integrated LED module draws 20 W and delivers 2400 lm, or 120 lm/W. That is enough for main lighting in a smaller room or for strong light over a table or worktop. The 60° beam means that from a 2.5 m ceiling it lights a circle about 2.9 m across on the floor. At 3000 K the light is warm white, and CRI 90 renders colours faithfully, which matters in a kitchen and at the dining table. The glare rating is UGR 19 or lower, so the light is not harsh for people looking towards the fitting.

Power and dimming

The driver is built into the fitting, so the light connects straight to 230 V mains with no separate transformer. It is protection class I and must be connected to an earth conductor. It dims with a trailing-edge phase dimmer. The LED module and driver may only be replaced by a professional; SLV rates the service life at 50,000 h — about 45 years at three hours a day. Energy efficiency class: D.

Installation and the NUMINOS system

According to SLV's manual the fitting is suitable only for surface mounting on a ceiling and for dry rooms. It needs no hole in the ceiling, so it also works where there is no void above for a recessed downlight. NUMINOS CL comes in four sizes — S, M, L and XL — and in several colour temperatures and beam angles, so matching fittings can be chosen for different zones of one interior.
