GES980 is a square stair light 10,5 cm on a side, mounted on the wall surface. The body is die-cast aluminium in anthracite grey, and the LED sits hidden behind the top edge: the light falls on the sloping inner face and runs down it, so the source is not visible from the front.
How much wall it takes up
The plate measures 105 Γ 105 mm and stands 22 mm off the wall at the top edge, tapering to 11 mm at the bottom. That is the figure to compare with the width of your stair flight or of the plinth the fitting is going on. It weighs 0.19 kg.
Mounting is on the surface: the manufacturer gives no cut-out and no recessed back box, so the wall needs only a cable outlet and two fixing points. The fitting is protection class I, so an earth conductor has to reach its terminal β the connection is an electrician's job.
How much light it gives and of what kind
The LED module draws 3 W and gives 147 lumens at 4000 K, neutral white with no yellow cast. That is the amount of light that marks a step and shows where the edge ends; it does not light a whole stairwell. The 120Β° output is indirect and aimed downwards, and colour rendering above 80 is enough to tell floor and tread apart by colour.
The finish changes the result here: the same fitting in white gives 212 lumens on the same 3 W according to the manufacturer, because the pale face throws back more light than the anthracite one. There is no bulb to buy or replace β the module is built in for good, and the manufacturer rates it at 25,000 hours. The fitting is not dimmable and works on/off only.
Where it can go
IP65 means complete dust tightness and resistance to water jets, which is why the manufacturer intends this fitting for outdoor use β on entrance steps, a terrace wall or a garden wall. It runs on 220-240 V straight from the installation, with no separate driver to buy.
