Table lamp SHISHA grey with white shade

SHISHA is a table lamp with a turned wooden base in grey and a white cotton drum shade trimmed with black braid top and bottom. The base is made of two stacked forms — one pear-shaped, one spherical — standing on a round foot.

How much surface it takes up

The lamp is 60 cm tall and the shade alone is 35 cm across and 25 cm high. The foot is only 13 cm, so the space to set aside on a surface follows the width of the shade rather than the base — the shade is the widest part here.

The cable is 2 m long, so the lamp does not have to stand right next to a socket. Beside a bedside table or a console that is the slack you need to run the cable along the wall.

What light it gives

The E27 lampholder takes one bulb of up to 60 W, and the maker allows both a traditional filament lamp and LED — so you choose the colour and the brightness yourself.

The shade is open at the top and at the bottom, so most of the light falls on the surface below the lamp and on the ceiling above it, while the white cotton sides let the rest through softly into the room. The maker intends SHISHA as additional lighting — beside an armchair, a bed or a desk — not as a room's main light source.

Build and the rooms it is intended for

The base is solid wood finished in grey water-based paint; the maker states that the paints used carry a safety certificate and meet European requirements. The shade is sewn from white cotton.

The lamp runs on 230 V and is rated IP20, which means dry interiors. The maker recommends it for a living room, a dining room, a hall, a study and a bedroom, and also as a desk lamp. SHISHA comes in three colourways: white, black and grey.
