The ZeXt A04-GU10 is a ceramic lamp holder for bulbs with a GU10 base, supplied with two connection leads. Its compact round body and pale wires form a component for a lighting installation, rather than a complete light fitting or an adapter between different bulb bases.
Check the base and the available space
The GU10 designation identifies the compatible bulb base. When choosing a replacement component, also compare the space inside the fitting: the manufacturer's drawing gives a body diameter of 28 mm and a height of 16 mm. These dimensions help establish the room needed for the holder itself, separately from the dimensions of the bulb fitted to it.
Each lead is 13 cm long with a conductor cross-section of 0.75 mm². Before ordering, compare the distance between the bulb holder and the connection point. This measurement is not the cable length of an entire lamp. The manufacturer specifies H05S-K leads with copper-alloy conductors and high-temperature insulation.
Understand the component's ratings
The holder has a rated voltage of 250 V and a rated current of 2 A. Its maximum load of 500 W is a limit for this component, not the electricity consumption of a connected bulb. The chosen light source must also meet the requirements of the fitting in which the holder is used; the load figure alone does not establish compatibility with the complete lamp.
The ceramic body and stated maximum working temperature of 180°C matter when comparing replacement parts for a particular fitting. The holder is rated IP20, so it is not a standalone watertight connection for installations exposed to water. Suitability of the assembled installation also depends on the design and documentation of the intended fitting.
