Planlicht: architectural lighting from Tyrol

Planlicht is a family-run Austrian company based in Vomp, Tyrol, that develops and builds architectural luminaires, with its own production in Vomp and in Murau, Styria, and “Made in Austria” as its seal. The work is aimed at real buildings rather than decoration: homes and restaurants, shops and showrooms, offices, schools and nurseries. Alongside standard families, the maker designs made-to-measure solutions and runs an online configurator.

Profiles, rings and precise light

The signature of the brand is the slim aluminium profile. Linear luminaires can be surface-mounted, suspended, wall-mounted or recessed, with direct or direct-and-indirect light, and with opal or microprismatic diffusers and louvres for glare control. Some lines join into continuous runs with corners, L and T shapes, and the housings can be ordered in any RAL colour. The maker also offers acoustic luminaires with sound-absorbing surfaces, ring luminaires and spotlights. Its current luminaires are all LED-based and designed to be repaired, with components that can be replaced.

Planlicht at Lunares

At Lunares you will find Planlicht's slim aluminium wall lights from the Pure line, including a 60 cm double-sided version that throws light up and down the wall and can also be fixed to the ceiling, and a white rotating recessed light for suspended ceilings that turns through a full circle and tilts by up to 40 degrees.

What to check

  • Light source. These models take replaceable lamps; the recessed light uses a G12 lamp of up to 70 W that is not included. Check the lamp type on the product page before ordering.
  • Up-and-down light. A double-sided wall light washes the wall above and below it, which suits corridors, kitchens and offices where you want soft, indirect light without glare.
  • Mounting. The Pure wall lights can be screwed to the wall or hung from the ceiling on steel cables. The recessed light needs an 18.5 cm cut-out and about 20 cm of depth above the ceiling.
  • Indoor use. The Pure wall light and the recessed light are rated IP20, for dry rooms; check the rating on the product page. Connecting them to 230 V is a job for a qualified electrician.
