Angus stag table lamp with oval hessian shade - bronze patina Elstead

Angus is an Elstead Lighting table lamp whose base is a large statuette of a roaring stag with spreading antlers, made of resin in a Bronze Patina finish — a dark, patinated bronze. Above the figure sits an oval laminated hessian shade in a natural, light beige colour.

Dimensions and space for the lamp

The lamp is 80 cm tall, 53 cm of which is the base with the statuette. The oval shade measures 46 × 29.5 cm and is 28 cm high, while the base takes up 36.5 cm in width. Compare these two figures with the top of the chest of drawers, console or side table it will stand on — the shade is wider than the base and is what sets the space needed. Its oval shape takes up less depth than a round shade of the same width, so the lamp can stand closer to the wall.

The lamp weighs 6.8 kg. It is intended for indoor use only.

Bulb and power

The lamp has one E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 40 W. The bulb is not included. The manufacturer describes it as compatible with dimmable smart bulbs, so brightness can be adjusted through such a bulb. It runs from a plug, with the switch on the cable. The lamp is Class I, so it plugs into a socket with an earth contact.

Which interiors it suits

The stag motif, patinated bronze and raw-textured hessian are a combination typical of rustic style. The lamp is intended for the living room, study and office.
