A black LUMINES SUPER WIDE cover in PMMA, 1 m long (manufacturer code 11-2097-10). It is a flat diffuser that closes the face of LUMINES' wide aluminium profiles, the ones built to take several LED strips rather than one.
Which profiles it fits
The manufacturer assigns the SUPER WIDE cover to three systems: LARGO, inLARGO and SORGA. LARGO is a surface-mounted and suspended profile with an 88.6 × 44.8 mm section that holds up to six LED strips; inLARGO is its recessed version for plasterboard, and SORGA the plaster-in version.
The profiles in these systems are made in 1000, 2020 and 3000 mm lengths, and the SUPER WIDE cover comes in the same three. This item is 1 m, matching the shortest profile length. The profile, LED strips, end caps and connectors are bought separately.
How much light the black cover lets through
According to the LUMINES photometry lab, black PMMA in the SUPER WIDE shape transmits 14% of the light (tolerance ±5%). For comparison, the same cover transmits 91% in transparent, 65% in milky and 75% in frosted milky. The black cover therefore passes roughly a sixth of what the clear one does, and needs considerably more powerful strips for the same brightness.
It is chosen where the look of the line matters: switched off, the profile stays uniformly black and the strips inside cannot be seen. The material is rated for operation from -20 to +70 °C.
