The Lofoten 1941CS is a low lantern shaped as a glazed cube, designed to be fixed on a low wall, a pedestal or another structure. The glass box measures 23 × 23 cm, and with its base the fitting is 27 cm tall. The frame and solid roof are electro-galvanised steel, powder-coated in a corten steel colour, a rusty brown, and the sides are clear safety glass.
Where and how it mounts
The fitting is screwed down through four ø5.8 mm holes on a 70 × 70 mm pattern onto the flat surface of a low wall, a pedestal or another structure. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm² and let another lantern be fed from this one (loop-through up to 2 × 1.5 mm²), so several fittings on one wall can share a single cable. The gland accepts a cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter.
The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor, and IP44 protects it against water splashed from any direction, which covers rain.
What light it gives
Inside is an E27 socket for an A55–A60 bulb, the ordinary pear-shaped lamp 55–60 mm across, LED up to 11 W. No bulb is included, so brightness and colour temperature are your choice; the user changes the bulb. The sides are clear, so the bulb stays visible and light leaves sideways through the glass, while the solid roof shades it from above.
The manufacturer describes the design as classic and simple and recommends the fitting for lighting terraces. The same series also comes in other heights and finishes.
