Bollard Light NORLYS Molde 1970AL light grey LED 8.2 W 3000 K 80 cm with motion sensor

Molde 1970AL is an 80 cm bollard light made of cast aluminium and powder-coated light grey (RAL 9006). The straight, rectangular body bends forward at the top into a short head with a clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate lens underneath. A PIR motion sensor with a dusk switch is built in, so the bollard switches itself on after dark when someone approaches.

How the motion sensor works

The ESYLUX MD-C 360I/6 mini sensor is factory-set to maximum range, a 10 lx dusk threshold and a 1-minute on-time. In daylight the luminaire ignores movement; after dark it lights up when it detects motion and switches off one minute after the movement stops. The luminaire is not dimmable – the sensor alone decides when it shines.

How much light it gives

The integrated Lumens EDC 57C LED module draws 8 W and produces 743 lm. After the diffusing lens the luminaire delivers 386 lm at 8.2 W, i.e. 47.1 lm/W – enough to mark a path, an entrance or garden steps. 3000 K is a warm white, and CRI 80 is a typical value for garden lighting. The head shields the source from above: 2% of the flux goes upwards (ULOR 2%, BUG B0-U1-G0), so the light lands on the ground, not in the sky. The module's L70 lifetime exceeds 55,000 h; the LED module is replaced by a professional service.

Mounting and wiring

The bollard is 11 cm wide and, with the projecting head, 16.5 cm deep. It is bolted down through four ø7 mm holes at 18 × 50 mm spacing. Nothing for the foundation is included: the concreting anchor 1907ZX0009 or ground anchor 1908GA0009 and the mounting adapters are sold separately. The terminals take conductors up to 4 × 4 mm² and loop-through wiring up to 4 × 2.5 mm², so several bollards can run from one supply line. The luminaire is protection class I and must be connected to a protective earth; installation is for a qualified electrician.

Durability and intended use

IP54 means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, so the bollard stands in the rain without cover; the housing is rated IK07 for impact. It operates from −20 to +45 °C. Norlys designed Molde for private grounds, parks and architectural projects – along a path, by the front door, on a terrace or in front of a hotel or restaurant.
